Why does everyone keep thinking Jesus was "typical?" That is absurd.

While Jesus would likely not have had long flowing locks (as some artists depict Him), He would've had a beard, as that was typical of the Hebrews at the time. The exception would be during a time of mourning.

Don't forget that there were artists & painters during this period, And that would even include the disciples & the apostles, as -as far as I know- Luke was not only a doctor but he was a painter as well, so the pictures we have might only be a heritage from that age (with some modifications, of course)

Beside, the picture taken from the linen clothes (by which Jesus was wrapped with), showed all his body & facial features & all the wounds. This picture showed too, that Jesus was with long hair and a beard (which was commen in that era)

Since Jesus was a Nazarene, he wouldn't have cut his hair. But, every since Michaelangelo painted the Last Supper, everyone thinks that Jesus had blonde hair and blue eyes (typical northern Italian of Michaelangelo's day). However, Jesus was a Semite, He had black hair, brown eyes, and brown skin.

If you are reading a book that depicts Jesus otherwise, what book are you reading?

Jesus was a Nazarite.... they did not cut their hair and as a result most of the depictions of Jesus come with long hair and a beard. John the Baptist was also a Nazarite. What book you reading? Try the Bible
