Do you think the biggest threat to world peace is from terrorism or conventional warfare. Give reasons why you choose your answer.
I think conventional wars because of China, North Korea and Iran. There more of a threat than a few turban bashers.

Conventional wars are the largest threat to world peace. Terrorism is obviously a threat, but the scale is much more localized and sparse. further terrorists lack the ability at least for now to kill hundreds of thousands of people in multiple strikes in a single moment. However, if N. Korea launched 3 or four nukes into Japan, or china, or if they got a good day and high a lot of tail wind the western united states the damages would be far worse.

Conventional warfare. Even if the terrorists were 10 times as sucessful next time, and killed 30,000 Americans, that is far fewer than China, Russia, North Korea, or even Iran could kill in a protracted war with the US. Terrorism has always existed, and always will, and yet terrorism has never once in history caused a country to fall. I challenge anyone to name one example. So, all these "talking heads" and pundits on TV and on the editorial pages who say this war is an existantial threat to the US are sadly misinformed.

I think it is from terrorism. Their is a threat from both sides, but at least in a conventional war you know who the enemy is. I consider guerrila warfare the same as terrorism. With terrorism you have the threat from inside which is worse for a country that is already spread out.

Both are quigmires, the real bull in the glass shop is the one scenaio involving countries with nukes....US, Russia and China. At that point, you can forget about the conventional wars.
Most war game and computer simulations between conventional forces with the adversaries mentioned above (except Iran) result in the use of tactical nukes to counter overwhelming infantry and tank divisions. The tactical nukes soon escalate to strategic nukes and the spectre of global suicide soon arises.

I think everyone believes that...It's the idiots that believe terrorism is the biggest problem....lol
We have terrorism in our own country, how about fix that problem.
