I need to wear contacts, what should i do to reduce the irritation that i get in my eyes due to the contacts and what should i do to reduce how red my eyes get due to the contacts also.

I need to know what kind of contacts i need for my situation and also if i should take any eye drops for my eyes and at what times during the day should i take these drops.

Get on a daily prescription allergy medicine. Your doctor can tell you what's best for controlling your symptoms and for your lifestyle. If you decide to use OTC allergy eye drops, the package should say if they're safe to use if you wear contacts, but you generally shouldn't put the drops in while you're wearing contacts or within 30 minutes to an hour of putting in your contacts.

You might want to tell your eye doctor about this situation, He'll probably prescribe you contacts for astigmatism. There are SO many different types of contacts out there.. Maybe try wearing water-based contacts? Eye drops might help, too. You just need one or two drops in each eye, whenever they feel itchy. Any brand should be fine; Visine makes a formula specifically for contacts.. that's always worked fine for me.

Anyway, you really do need to ask your eye doctor. There are very few 'professionals' on this website, and I wouldn't want you trying something a 12 year old kid posts on here as a joke.

Cats? sure sounds like it. Not a good idea if you are allergic. I suggest the generic "allergy pills" they sell everywhere. They are similar to Chlor-trimeton. Try taking one just before you go to sleep. Eyes should be clear in the morning for poutting in the contacts. If you have problems during the day take another one.

You totally need to run this by your optometrist. You may be one of those people who simply can't wear contacts. I'm one- my list of allergies is too large for me to find a combination of comfortable contacts and allergy medication. Glasses are not so bad.
