I think the DLP will have a better picture, but look for yourself. One thing to check for before you get a DLP is for "rainbows". Move your eyes across the screen when a bright object is displayed. You may see a trail of colors (not everyone can see them). If you can see them, that may bother you.

For the LCD, check how it looks when watching a dark scene. Check for uniformity of tone on the screen by looking at a scene with large sky areas or the background of a menu.

If you will be watching in a darkened room, the DLP will probably look better.

A different brand, samsung is a pretty bad company, they sell alot of Junk electronics.

Trust me I know, I repair TVs and Samsung is one of the worst.

Also I have a friend whos a Samsung tech support and he even hates em. Also he told me their TVs dont last very long and I believe them by how many I get into my shop!

Go with a Sony LCD/SXRD or a Toshiba DLP and you cant go wrong.

DLP -- cheaper, lasts longer and hell, 61" is huge
