When you have an encounter with the God of the universe, it is life-changing.
Many who go to church have never met Jesus. They know about Him, but have never experienced Him.
That's the difference.

Like any fanatic...they just find that one thing to focus on and let it guide their world. They do it out of emptiness in their life or to cover up something horrible that happened to them.
I'm a fanatic of a TV show...I basically eat, sleep and live this show, because it interests me and I don't have anyone else (lover) in my life to distract me.
My mom on the other hand is what you would call a Jesus fanatic because she had something happen to her when she was little and that forced her into being a Jesus fanatic...A guide where she didn't have anyone or thing care about what happened to her before...or at least that's what she felt like.
What I consider someone that's normal religious is someone who mentions they go to church on Sundays but doesn't attack you if you're mouthy or rude or whatever. They respect you for the person you are, and not by if you follow a faith or not. They don't bring it up alot...just play it low key.

If some one saved your life and you new that he could save others, would you tell others about Him?
His ways are all lead to life ever lasting.
Jesus fanatics ?? a bit harsh isn't it? i mean you are a spiritual person asking a spiritual question on a spiritual forum, right?
Do not even Christians count as spiritual people with out having to be put into a little group called "Jesus fanatics "?

As for me, when you have come from a past such as I have and then you really get it, you get what an amazing thing He did for us, how can you not be a "fanatic"? When you have done things such as I have and realize that you can still go to heaven because of His love for us, how can you not love Him back? He was tortured and hanged because of the things you and I and everyone else have done. Yet He loves us so much that He did not save Himself but allowed it to happen so that when we die we would get to be with Him. I am confused as to why there aren't more "fanatics."

They've been lied to for so long by their church that the only way they can keep their faith is by being fanatical. They are smart enough to realize that the words of Jesus have been twisted by the church for power over the masses and for their money. Now the only way they can justify their beliefs is by bluster and fanatical fundamentalism.

Well, if they think that if they don't do what God wants then they'll spend eternity burning in Hell, and if they do they'll spend eternity in infinite pleasure.. umm thats a good motivator.
I don't think most people who believe in God feel that way, they think God just loves them and wants them to love others.
Some people don't believe in God at all, but it seems like they're considered weird too.

Because we "fanatics" are passionate about what we believe in and we want to share it w/ everyone.
Thats normal to me..

My exwife was WAY over the top (rolling on the floor, speaking in tongues, having my daughter prayed over before taking her to the hospital for a broken arm). We later found out she had a brain tumor... Maybe the two things are related?
