You are confused because there is no way to grow spiritually.
Or maybe you just got smarter.

I suggest you start with the gospels. Select a passage or teaching. Begin with a prayer and ask the Lord to help you discover his personal message for you. Re-read the passage a second time. Close the Bible and reflect on what you have just read. I play Christian or classical music during this time.
You may want to write your thoughts on a journal. Keeping a journal is one way of knowing how you are growing spiritually. The last step is prayer again. Thank the Lord for his revelation and other blessings you have received.
Have a blessed and peaceful day

First, pray for an open mind and heart for understanding. Then, open you Bible and read. That's really all it takes. You will usually find some new insight you have not seen before. At least you will find new questions to ask yourself, and questions can lead to understanding. Perhaps you need the guidance and fellowship of other believers to talk with. Choose them carefully. By opening yourself to God, you will grow. You don't tell how long you have been a Christian, but you seem like you are fairly new in your faith. Relax- you are moving in the right direction. It is a life-long process, and sometimes it will seem to be moving slow.

The primary answers (well, almost):
Scripture Study- Even if you have already read it, reading it again can give you new insights. Also, try a different approach to reading. If you are one who likes to scrutinize each chapter, consider reading the book as a whole, or vice-versa.
Also, it is best if you can set an extended period of time (at least thirty minutes) for scripture study. An hour is ideal. This does not mean that you have to read massive portions of the scriptures. Sometimes you can spend an exorbitant amount of time on just one scripture.
Pray- pray for inspiration before you start reading. God has told us to pray always. Most importantly, be sincere when you pray. Don't just say a little mantra. Say what's in your heart.
Meditate- After you pray, and before/during/after you read the scriptures, take the time to think about the things you have said or read. Try to listen to the promptings you get. Even if you think its just you thinking, sometimes what you think is inspiration.

advance relationships with those who can help you spiritually. a million Corinthians 15:33 tells us, “do no longer be misled: ‘undesirable business business enterprise corrupts good personality.’” The Bible is finished of warnings about the impression “undesirable” human beings may have on us. Spending time with those who interact in sinful activities will reason us to be tempted with assistance from those activities. the nature of those we are round will “rub off” on us. it truly is why it truly is so major to encompass ourselves with different those who love the Lord and are dedicated to Him. attempt to hit upon a chum or 2, perchance out of your church, who can help you and inspire you (Hebrews 3:thirteen; 10:24). Ask your friends to shop you accountable in regard for your quiet time, your activities, and your stroll with God. Ask if you could do an identical for them. this would not mean you ought to provide up all of your friends who do no longer understand the Lord Jesus as their Savior. stay their chum and love them. merely enable them understand that Jesus has replaced your existence and also you won't be able to do all an identical things you used to do. Ask God to provide you opportunities to percentage Jesus consisting of your friends.

I don't understand why you use the word meditate. the word you need to use is prayer. prayer gives us faith and without faith we have nothing. that is the way we grow spiritually in the lord.
