I also have no lemon juice or vinegar which are the regular substitutes. will my banana bread still be ok?

Does your recipe have baking soda in it? The "sour" part is to help the baking soda work---it creates that "fizzy" reaction to give the bread a little lighter texture. If you don't have sour milk or something to turn it sour (lemon juice or vinegar), your bread may turn out a bit heavy. Do you have any orange juice? That would work, too, and it would add a little extra flavor to the bread.

Use baking soda in regular milk. Use the same amount of regular milk with 2T. of baking soda. You got that?

If I didn't have anything sour I would use baking powder rather than baking soda.
