Why not go with a bright light blue and either a light purple or a deep purple. Go to a bridal shop and look at dresses for the colors. Find ones that go together. You could do a blue dress with purple accents in the flowers or just the opposite. You will just have to put different colors of blues and purples together and see what looks best.

Depends on the color of purple or blue. Like royal purple or lavender? These probably aren't traditional wedding colours but I saw it once, purple looks great with black, like a black suit. I also saw these cute dresses that were royal purple with little black empire waist black accends. It was very neat, they had purple orchids.
I also went to a wedding that had a light blue, but it was kinda bold at the same time. This light blue color had some chocolate accents too there was also white. I remember the tuxedos were chocolate with the same light blue accents. The bouquet was white roses that had blue tips. The centerpieces on the tables were large water vases with blue crystals on the bottom there was something else that glowed which made the flowers on top absorb the light and take the color of the blues.

If you're getting married in the summer, lighter colors are recommended. Lavender or Periwinkle are both beautiful colors and would make beautiful bridesmaid's dresses. Maybe even a floral dress that has both colors. The men could wear a darker blue tux, the colors together would be terrific. If you get married in the fall, a darker shade of purple would be good, the men could still wear a darker blue tux. Good luck!

Purples and blues just were made to go together. But, be careful when choosing ... if you go too deep, they could detract. But periwinkle, lavender, iris lilac, hyacinth, azure, teal, sky blue, are all beautiful colors. And I would go with the attendants in the various shades of lilac/blue. I saw a very beautiful wedding with the attendants in about 4 shades of lilac/lavender ... each one choosing a color that best suited her complexion within the color range. Flowers could include hydrangea, bachelor's buttons, irises and some white.
Best wishes.

I'd say blue if you go for the summer and a dark purple if you go for the fall. There are tons of colors that would accent both of those wonderfully.

This is what my sister say.It all depends on the time of year. And the flowers, decoration at the reception. What color do you want to see, every time you look at your wedding pictures down the line? My sister hates the purple she chose. to this day. Shes been married 10 years.

Lavendar and Indigo are a fabulous color scheme. Especially to the back drop of black tuxes and a white gown. There are a lot of flowers you can go with that will either match or compliment this scheme. If you are having someone professional do your floral and table decor, let them know your color preferences and they will be able to brig photos of similar weddings.

Lavender or Periwinkle. Lavender to do with the purples, and Periwinkle to do with the blues. They are both beautiful wedding colors.

Navy blue and a slightly off white, maybe a light cream. To me its very classic, very upscale. No lavendar or purple, too Barney, thats something you see at a prom, an 80's prom.
