I think that someone thanked God for Rabbi Michael Lerner. Maybe they were grateful for having him in their life. I do not know what would be the correct thing to do but if a person is grateful for another person can they not say Thank You God.

Very flattering to Rabbi Michale Lerner... but, technically, it's incorrect to do. It's taking God's name in vain. I suppose it's fine to use, unless this Rabbi is orthodox. Just to be safe, try, "Rabbi Michael Lerner is an amazing Rabbi," instead.
