I just got a small (quarter sized) tattoo today. Is there a method besides laser to remove it since it is so new? Preferably some cream or lotion or something? I'm really regretting getting it done. Please, I need help!

Someone mentioned gasoline and steel wool. I assume this is a joke but can anyone verify if that would actually work?

I don't really mind it. I'm just very worried what my family is going to think of it.

Since it is so new will getting laser treatment next week or later this week yield good results?

DO NOT ever attempt the gasoline and steel wool approach. This is probably the most stupid thing I have ever heard. You will damage your skin beyond repair, in fact you could well cause major burns. You could also potentially poison yourself and believe me, a tattoo is far more pleasing to the eye than some mangled skin. Please do not do this as it is far too dangerous, the people suggesting it are crazy because it does not even work to remove a tattoo, at best it will leave a smudged effect. The only ways to remove a tattoo safely and effectively is to have it lasered off. Please take care and relax, let yourself get used to your new tattoo, don't freak out and also learn to trust yourself, you had it done because you liked and wanted it, it's your body, don't worry about what others think.

you should let it heal first. thats the best idea. also it'll give you time to see if you really like it or not. after it heals and you don't like it, you can get it removed. there are no creams that will work. tattoo ink goes very deep into the layers of skin. the only way is laser or sandblasting. depending on where it is, you can also get it cut out of the skin. this is the least painful out of the methods.

sounds crazy, but go to a surgeon and have it cut off. It is amazing how well scares heal from incisions now. I just had a huge mole cut off my face 2 weeks ago and you cannot even tell it was ever there, my stitches have been out a week!

I have also had a tattoo removed this way on my leg (it was like 3 inches) long. It took about 6 months to fade but looks fine now. Oh and it's much cheaper!!

the only proven way is laser. The ink is very deep into the skin, trying to remove it with anything abrasive will leave a very nasty scar.Wait until it heals you my like it then. Unless it's in the middle of your forehead a tattoo that small will not be hard to live with.

i highly doubt there is any lotion or anything besides laser that would remove it..and i would NOT try gasoline..r u serious? whyd u get it anyway if ur so scared..its only a little one...u'll get over it. why would u pay for expensive laser procedure right after getting it...u must not have wanted the tattoo that bad in the 1st place

I heard a commercial on the radio for a cream that was supposed to make it fade and dissapear over the course of a month. I don't remember the name of the product, but they were selling it at a local tattoo parlor, so check around your area.

oh no..thats too bad. But think why did you get it in the first place? you must have wanted it if you went out made the effort, time and spent the money for it? Who cares what others think about it...its just a tattoo, its not the end of the world .really. It costs alot to get it lazered out and do you really want to put chemicals etc on your skin? My advise to you...enjoy your Tat..its fun and carefree and again WHO CARES WHAT OTHERS THINK OK...you shouldnt go around thinking and worrying what others think ok. Take care and dont worry! its not that bad :-)

If you are worried about what you family thinks, you shouldn't have gotten it in the first place.

Its the size of a quarter!!! It can't be that bad. If you like it, don't remove it and don't worry about what your family is going to say.
