You stand a very good chance of getting the barbell or clasping end caught up in there. Also there would be a constant metal clicking when you move your mouth. I would wait a few years and if you want it then, you save the money, time, and the sometimes unsightly scar tissue that comes from getting it now.

It can be done however with some people it can interfere with your brace. It is advised by some piercers and dentists not to get it done while having a brace however i did and had no problems. Personally i would chose if you are going to get it pierced with a brace to opt for a ring rather than a labret due to the back of the labret possibly catching on your brace and causing discomfort. If you can i would wait until you get your brace taken off just in case of any problems because like someone said before me it would be a waste of money, time and result in possible but very minimal scaring. first of all , why would you want your lip pearced? Ask the person that gives the peircing what will happen. Or u can see your orthodontist.
