Lemon juice is a well-known hair lightener that is natural and effective, but the acid in lemon juice can be very hard on the skin and hair. If you want to lighten dishwater blonde hair with lemon juice, rinse the hair daily with a tablespoon of lemon juice mixed with a gallon of warm water until the desired color is achieved. Although this hair lightening method will take time, it is effective, and it isn’t as damaging as full-strength lemon juice or other hair lightening methods.
Instead, use chamomile shampoo and conditioner - it's supposed to lighten your hair.
Maybe even make a rinse from chamomile tea (no sugar, of course)

I used to do that, It brings out some natural highlights on hair that is highlighted.. I just had a headache if kept on so long. Just take a spray bottle mix lemon juice and just a bit of water. It does help but if does take awhile. If you are looking for specific fast results I would say go to a stylist.

Wow. Uh yeah cuz I mean that's how I totally did my hair *fluff* *sparkle* --_--
The side effects are the lemon juice not working. IT's probably the sun that is doing it and I would bet its the fact that its destroying the cells in your hair.
Lemme sum it up for you
Pigment=melanin. Sun=death ray of Gods. lemon juice=useless

Yes, it will bleach your hair a little. you can use a fresh lemon, but there are companys that make this sort of lightener. you will want to rinse your hair after and if it makes it brittle, then deep condition weekly.

Only if you had light hair in baby pictures. If you have naturally dark hair you will only peel away to red under tones. Don't be cheap go to a salon.

Yes, if you're already a natural blonde. Bleached blondes cannot do this. It is the healthiest way to lighten your already blonde hair.
