-Good point and illustration. The fact is that the God of the Bible, nor his Son have authored such a debased idea, aside from the actual
happening.
-It has been said that the inquisitors during the 500 & more years of the inquisition were inspired by the hellfire doctrine in their burning Bible lovers, and others.
Jesus himself was in hell for 3 days, the Bibles hell is simply the grave itself. (Acts 2: 29-34) The hellfire lovers have conjured up a sick perversion that does not belong in Christs' Christianity

The example you give is moot. No one can judge you fairly except God. How can another man know what you think or what you do in private. That would make me God. You "fry" in hell because you rejected God. How and why would anyone believe that they go to Heaven when in every day, year in and year out, through out your life you mocked God and ridiculed His followers. Why do you think you should go to Heaven. There are two families, God's and Satan's, take your pick

If the government has the right to sentence people to jail, is it ok for you to take the law into your own hands and lock people in your basement? Why not? Why can't you just give yourself the authority to hand out speading tickets and tow other people's cars because they don't obey rules that you just made up yourself? Why do only government officials have the right to do these things?
It is not your job to play God.

What you fail to realize is that if I did have a problem with something God was doing I would be powerless to stop it. In the case of your hypothetical situation where people are rooting on a sex offender, they would be able to stop it. Another thing you choose to be ignorant of is God's absolute sovereignty and righteousness. He has the right to punish sin any way he pleases, and you do not have the right to judge him for it. That would be a violation of commandment number one since you have created a god in your own image, who would never punish somebody in such a way that you don't approve of. You need to repent and trust in the love and mercy of Jesus Christ or you will perish on judgment day.

God doesn't send anybody to hell, they choose it themselves. As for me doing it, I have never sent anybody to hell, but I have given several people directions! lol
Besides, not all religions believe in a literal hell.
I am christian, but I believe hell is on earth. We must learn and repent for our sins before we climb out of hell and into heaven.

The difference is I'm not God and you are lucky I'm not. God is giving you more chances to shape up than I would, and I wouldn't feel guilty at all about telling you to go to hell.

Your theories may matter to man, but not to God. God created you and you go and give something or someone else the credit. This is why you will be dstryed if you don't change. He is no respector of persons.
If you made something that was flawless and perfect and gave it instructions to follow, and it did not follow the instructions that you gave and all the credit went to something or someone else wouldn't you be pissed and ready to kill.

That's a bit too deep for most of the religious fanatics in the world. Their morals are impressed into them not by their own choice, but mainly through whatever they believe in (ex. the bible, talmud, quran, etc.).
Probably as an Atheist, one of the things I like the most is that there aren't any impressed morals other than there isn't a god and science is right. Everything else is up to you ;)

God doesn't send people to Hell. They send themselves there. They have a choice, trust in Jesus and go to Heaven, deny Him and go to Hell. Its your choice. I think it pains God to see any of His children to go to Hell where they will spend forever in torment and will be eventually destroyed.
