Well, if she's 'like' his sister, he probably trusts her enough to tell her these things. Would you rather him tell his parents personal things about you and him or her? His parents may think, "Oh he's interested in So-and-so...let's ask him questions about the relationship....". They'll get nosy. It's most likely that he finds it important to tell some one, so why not her?

he obviously likes you a lot and there's no better way to get advice regarding a relationship than actually asking a woman. He obviously trusts her a lot and if he thinks of her as an older sister he just wants her advice to make the relationship as good as possible.

You know what? I have a good friend who I've grown to trust who is 16 and has a boyfriend who is 20 living in her house, and she and I have known eachother for 4 years, become real good friends and I told her of something that happened to me that was very private and told her to keep it secret and she blabbed it to her boyfriend.
