A hunter takes aim with his compound bow and fires an arrow at the biggest bear he has ever seen. He misses clean and the bear throws him down and rapes him for an hour.

The hunter is greatly upset. So in black powder season the hunter takes aim with his new .50 caliber black powder rifle and again he misses the bear. The bear throws him down and rapes him all night long.

Being driven to the point of lunacy the hunter buys a fully auto AK-47 assault rifle. He see's the bear and with shaking hands he unloads a 50 round magazine in the bears direction. As the smoke clears the bear approaches him without so much as a scratch. The bear places his paw on the hunters shoulder, smiles and says "you don't come here to hunt, do you?"

16 shots from a .22 rimfire or 16 shots from a 460 Nitro Express?

1. Use enough gun.

2. Put the bullet where it will drop the bear "right now".

3. Game over. Enjoy your new rug.

What will a wounded bear do? It will maul the first human that accidentally stumbles in it's path. It would be criminal to have wounded that bear.

Statistically, it would run in fear of you at first sight. But if not then, statistically, it would sometime soon after the first few shots. My best freind sat on his moose kill at age 17 for three hours and held off a grizzley sow and two cubs for three hours with his bad looks. He did have a 7mm mag and a 30.06 but the bears didn't know that.If you want to do more activities in the woods then do it.Be careful, carry a rifle or12 gauge if you want to.
I'm not sure what you mean by "a pissed bear", did you coin that phrase or read it in a magazine. Personnally, I've never seen one and I have shot a bear in self defense at 40 feet away. That was an exception since people had been feeding it, it was completelly unafraid of me. I think a bear gets pissed about as often as a person goes on a killing spree. It does happen and he could kill you, but there would definetely be some loose wiring in the bear. I'm not an expert, but I have had several close encounters with them

Any time you hunt bear you should do so with at least one other person. The other person should be over weight, out of shape and be some one that you do not like.
You did not say if any of the 16 shots hit the bear. you should be OK as long as you can out run the person that you are with.

if you need to use more than 16 shots to take down a bear you have a problem!

If you are foolish enough to unload 16 rounds into a bear without dropping it.........you're probably going to be mauled to death.

It will respond in kind, trying to scare off whatever is trying to scare it, and then leave the area.
Whethet the threat to it reamins intact or not is of no concern to the bear. It is just trying to leave the encounter alive.

either go die some where or come after you unless you scared it enough to want to get out of the area. p.s. you might want to go to the range to get your gun sighted in better, or practise.
