In many countries some people voluntarily WANTS to be crucified during your holy week. And every time they do this voluntarily they endure the pain and they do this yearly.

But Jesus, whom his death was supposed to save all humanity:
1- Prayed to God with strong crying and tears to save him from death = Selfishness
Mar 14:36 and he said, Abba, Father, all things [are] possible unto thee; take away this cup from me.
2- Blamed God for forsaking him = Rudeness
Mar 15:34 and at the ninth hour Jesus cried with a loud voice, saying, My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me?
3- Showed anguish ,fear and deep distress.
Mat 26:37 He took Peter and Zebedee's two sons, James and John, and he began to be filled with anguish and deep distress.
And that's how Jesus set a perfect example to man in how to accept the Devin decree.

Jesus is a human - God sent his son to our earthly world as a man. Therefore, he is like us, except without sin.
Jesus is a human. He can be scared. You're a coward too, everyone is. It's not anything bad to be a coward.
And if you were beaten, knew you would die a painful death persecuted, etc. wouldn't YOU be a COWARD and be scared?
And DUHHH he showed deep distress!
What's wrong with that?
The commandments didn't say that you can't be scared!
Jesus has the right to feel that way.
Learn more about the Bible and take some classes before you actually talk about this :)

It's amusing to me how, for someone who claims to respect Jesus as a prophet, that a Muslim like you will speak of Him in the most derogatory terms. The Koran ask you to inquire of the People of the Book, so learn from us!
The Bible recorded for us that Jesus, in His humanity, prayed that the cup of suffering would pass from Him. This is a record of the conflict between the human desire and the divine will, but do not forget that Jesus also prayed "Not my will but yours be done", and some has said that the cosmic battle for man's souls was already won at the Garden. Why would this be regarded as cowardice? He did not fled the scene or resist arrest when His captors came. The first Adam had the choice to do God's Will or his own will in the Garden of Eden, and he chose his own will. The last Adam had the same choice but He chose God's Will.
And was Jesus blaming God on the cross? Not at all, what He said was simply to hark back to the Psalms and so fulfil the OT writings. Seven sayings were recorded from the cross, and you had to pick one and read into it your own perverted view of our Saviour? Even Jesus' last words were not saying "Why you did this to me? Father it's all your fault!" but rather a cry of victory of completion, "It is finished!"
And what's wrong with showing anguish and distress? Which human does not have that? Don't forget that Jesus is God in human flesh, which means He is 100% human and 100% God. So why can't His human nature show full human emotions and manifest normal human frailty?
Like I said, your ignorance and rejection (not just yours but the entire Islamic community) of the doctrine of the Trinity and the incarnation has resulted in your missing the true salvation that can only be found in Jesus Christ, who DIED on the cross (a verifiable historical fact that you have to unthinkingly deny just because the Koran said so) so that your sins can be forgiven.

"In them, however, are some things hard to understand, which the untaught and unsteady are twisting, as [they do] also the rest of the Scriptures, to their own destruction.
YOU, therefore, beloved ones, having this advance knowledge, be on YOUR guard that YOU may not be led away with them by the error of the law-defying people and fall from YOUR own steadfastness." 2 Peter 3:16-17
As a rebuttal to your charges.........although followed with a question mark:
1. Jesus was more concerned about the reproach that dying as a criminal. Even being charged as a blasphemer, would bring on his Father. Also, you left out the last part of the Scripture:
"And he went on to say: “Abba, Father, all things are possible to you; remove this cup from me. Yet not what I want, but what you want" -Mark 14:36
2. To be tested 'to the limit' Jesus Father removed all protection and Jesus sensed this. How would you react if after having the company and spirt of your Father for what could really amount to billions of years (in his prehuman existence) was taken away, so that you could be tested to the limit? How would you react? Although God's Son, he was still human and acted much like a human. He got hungry, for instance! -Matthew 4:2
3. "And taking along Peter and the two sons of Zeb′e·dee, he started to be grieved and to be sorely troubled" -Matthew 26:37
Leaving eight of the apostles—perhaps near the garden’s entrance—he instructs them: “Sit down here while I go over there and pray.” He then takes the other three—Peter, James, and John—and proceeds farther into the garden. Jesus becomes grieved and sorely troubled. “My soul is deeply grieved, even to death,” he tells them. “Stay here and keep on the watch with me.”
Going a little way forward, Jesus drops to the ground and with his face to the ground begins earnestly praying: “My Father, if it is possible, let this cup pass away from me. Yet, not as I will, but as you will.” What does he mean? Why is he “deeply grieved, even to death”? Is he backing down from his decision to die and provide the ransom?
Not at all! Jesus is not appealing to be spared from death. Even the thought of avoiding a sacrificial death, once suggested by Peter, is repugnant to him. Rather, he is in agony because he fears that the way he will soon die—as a despicable criminal—will bring reproach upon his Father’s name. He now senses that in a few hours he is going to be impaled upon a stake as the worst kind of person—a blasphemer against God! This is what sorely troubles him.
You really need to do a little more research before writing such things.

Look, I am an atheist, so I don't really think that the god/Christ/holy spirit thing is actually more than a work of fiction, however, the Mel Gibson film, may have been a little political, over pushing the Roman church. However, it was spot on about the cruelty inflicted by the roman army on its crucifixion victims. Anybody who had undergone that torture was not a coward.
I like to see the colour of your underpants in the same situation....

Jesus wasn't a coward and he was the perfect example. After he prayed for God to "take this cup from me" we further state that "yet not what I will, but what you will." He gave it over to the Father. He was the perfect example and even more-so he was God in Flesh; the only begotten Son of God.

I'll sum this up for you:
A man willing to hang on a cross for your sins and the worlds sins, willing to endure the punishment that every man deserves, resisting temptations from Satan, leading a sinless life, and resurrecting from the dead and conquering all forms of evil so that we can conquer through him---is NOT a coward-like man.
Jesus prayed to set an example.
We all need prayer.
Jesus was forsaken--he had to bear the sins we deserve. Then he claimed victory 3 days later!

Firstly God will say to you as before for those who had crucified him: "Father, let them have forgiveness, for they have no knowledge of what they are doing." Luk 23:34
1-When Jesus prayed to God was not because he is selfish but to learn us to pray all the time; particularly at time of temptations & applying God's will before our will as he said:
"...nevertheless not as I will, but as thou wilt." Mat 26:39
"...thy will be done." Mat 26:42
2-Yes, right he began to be filled with anguish and deep distress as a human knows that he will gonna torture & crucify,
"behold, the hour is at hand, and the Son of man is betrayed into the hands of sinners." Mat 26:45
BUT AS HE WAS NOT COWARD he didn't ran away, but on opposite further he had forbidden Peter when he drew his sword, and struck a servant of the high priest's, and smote off his ear.
"Put up again thy sword into his place: for all they that take the sword shall perish with the sword." Mat 26:52
It's not the only thing that Jesus had done but:
"And he touched his ear, and healed him."Luk 22:51
WHAT A COWARD!
If he really was coward why he didn't ask God to give him more than twelve legions of angels?
"Thinkest thou that I cannot now pray to my Father, and he shall presently give me more than twelve legions of angels?" Mat 26:53
3-He wasn't blame God when he said:
"My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me?"
he was remembering jewish with psalm 22 which is begin with this phrase "Eli, Eli lama sabachthani" & this one is full of prophesyings about Jesus crucifying........
also as a human being he felt the full pain without supporting from the Godhead nature;
"Yet it pleased the LORD to bruise him; he hath put him to grief: when thou shalt make his soul an offering for sin, .."Isa 53:10
& it's figure the way that the sinner feel when God hid his face;
"thou didst hide thy face, and I was troubled." Psa 30:7
"...not of the letter, but of the spirit: for the letter killeth, but the spirit giveth life." 2 Cor 3:6
so when Jesus was smite on his cheek, he didn't turn the other one not because he is hypocrite but he took the spiritual meaning for not revenge. Remember HE DIDN'T SMITE HIM BACK....
All what had happened to fulfill the scriptures.

Well the day you recieve the penalty for ALL human sins on YOUR body and be separated from God and have YOUR beard pulled out...and scourged with whips with bits of metal tied to the end so that it tore our strips of YOUR flesh down to the rib bones etc...then maybe you will have something to say...As it is...your CAPITALIZING certain WORDS is not impressing ANYONE . Also...Jesus was using the exact same words as David did pointing you to the Old Testament and showing that he was fulfilling prophecy...So stick that in your pipe and smoke it.

That was God's human part wanting to live. But he said IF possible. Since Father God couldn't look at sin, He had to leave Jesus alone.
So your reasoning is wrong.

There is a little bit of difference between a first-century Roman crucixion and a modern re-enactment. Crucifixion was the highest technology in Roman torture, and was so ghastly that the Romans still refused to depict in art centuries after the practice was abandoned.
