i'm 33 and have my wisdom teeth(since i was 18). i never experienced pain and so after hearing horror stories decided to keep them in. however over time my bottom row of teeth "lean" out a bit. i have perfectly straight teeth, never needed braces. even with the lower row of teeth "leaning" i have a great smile. BUT i drool now, snore, and am wondering if i should go ahead and get them pulled. should i or shouldn't i?

Your wisdom teeth and the leaning teeth have nothing to do with drooling in your sleep or snoring. Open mouth breathing usually occurs because you are not getting enough air via the nose, and snoring can occur for the same reason. If this is just a recent development, you may want to check out some other things before you make the appointment for the dentist. You more than likely are getting congested at night, for some reason. The most common reasons are dry air, and a flat pillow that doesn't support the neck in your favorite sleeping position. My first suggestion would be to add a humidifier or vaporizor to your bedroom to add moisture to the air. The next thing would be to invest in a new pillow. If you use a feather pillow, it may simply need a good hot wash to sanitize the feathers and remove the dust. Or you might consider an allergenic foam pillow. You should also consider doing a really good clean of the mattress and room, rugs and drapes can harbor dust and mold spores that will aggrivate the nasal passages. Although your complaints center on your mouth, the problems don't lie there- nor with your teeth. Look to find what bugs your nose, because that's what makes you open the mouth. Eliminate that, and you may find the drooling and snoring go away.

I think the best thing to do would be go to your dentist and ask him (he can tell with the x-ray) if you wisdom teeth are pushing all your teeth. Since your noticing this, it is obviously a sign that something is wrong with your teeth, so I would get it checked asap. You don't want to end up getting Tooth aches and what not.. thats the worst.

Get them pulled, even though you've gone 15 years with them in. Since your teeth are "leaning", in about a year or two, your teeth could get seriously messed up. The pain and swelling only lasts for a week or so.

lol! I new what you ment :0)

I still have my top ones, did not have the money to take them out. Talk to your dentist see what he/she says. I grind my teeth so I have teeth problems.
