If you are contemplating hurting yourself, AGAIN, then you need to be under a Dr.s care. If you have a Dr. and he/she is not helping you heal, to find out WHY, you have these feelings, and HOW to cope, you need to find another Dr. that CAN HELP YOU.Any Dr. can throw medication at anyone. A GOOD Dr. will help you understand the underlying reasons for your actions, and help you to learn how to help yourself. I suffered from a very horrific situation years ago. The first few Dr.s were not helping me to heal. I was fortunate to find a wonderful Dr. who helped me really understand the reasons for my thoughts and behavior. It takes time to heal, Emotionally, just as is does to heal from a physical injury or illness. As far as Dr.s go, ONE SIZE DOES NOT FIT ALL.!!! Please do not give up, you can get well.

I would definitely say talk to someone, if not a therapist, someone you trust and that is supportive. I know the feeling and definitely how it just comes out of no where. It's not fun, and the fact that you don't have a reason to start cutting again, makes it worse to explain to someone. Definitely know that you are not alone on this one, and that there are people out there that understand and want to help you.

Also, you might want to make a list of distractions, things that you would like to do, besides hurting yourself, that make you happy and can distract you from the idea of cutting. Some ones to start you off is reading a book, taking a walk, going for a drive, drawing on yourself with a washable red marker, writing your feelings down, playing computer games, etc....

My mother always told me idle hands are the devils workshop. In other words get yourself busy. Then you won't have time to think bad things. We all go through bad spells in our lives but the more you do the less time you have. Don't stay alone all the time and by all means, talk to someone asap. This is not something to play with because there is only one you. And I feel sure that someone loves you and needs you very much. Hang in there!

try sam-e and omega 3 supplements. Sounds like a physical cause could be triggering it.

I do too, you are not alone.
Go see your psychiatrist if you have one.
If not, you probably need to see your family Dr. to refer you.
Good luck and welcome to Yahoo answers!
