Wouldn't the solution to theism be A) very simple and obvious and B) quite beautiful and amazing. Why such a complex maze of mythology mixed with history, scribes, disciples, devils, angels, ghosts, spirits, souls, laws, salvations, commandments, serpents, crucifictions, resurrections, prophecies.

God is not ugly or confusing, those things are our human perspective on what we see is God, or what we think as God. The old testament shows an angry fickle God, and the new testament a loving forgiving God. God did not change, but we as a people did. In a thousand years people will see God differently as well, but God will still be the same. Just Love...everything and everyone, and nothing else.

Quite to the contrary, He's perfectly righteous and consistent.
I don;t purport to understand His thought process. I'm just glad he's my Daddy.
Fallacy Of Composition:
assuming that a whole has the same simplicity as its constituent parts. In fact, a great deal of science is the study of emergent properties. For example, if you put a drop of oil on water, there are interesting optical effects. But the effect comes from the oil/water system: it does not come just from the oil or just from the water.
Another example: "A car makes less pollution than a bus. Therefore, cars are less of a pollution problem than buses."
Another example: "Atoms are colorless. Cats are made of atoms, so cats are colorless."

Well, I define the Biblical god the same way Robert Ingersoll describe it.
"A false friend, an unjust judge, a braggart, a hypocrite, a tyrant, sincere in hatred, jealous, vain and revengeful, false in promise, honest in curse, suspicious, ignorant, infamous and hideous--such is the God of the Pentateuch." (Some Mistakes of Moses )
I also agree with Thomas Paine when he said, "All our ideas of the justice and goodness of God revolt at the impious cruelty of the Bible. It is not a God, just and good, but a devil, under the name of God, that the Bible describes." (Age of Reason)

I find Him to be neither confusing nor ugly. Far from it, He is the most winsome and delightful Being in all of existence. Perhaps the problem lies not in God, but in you. That is what He has been trying to get across to you.

You just don't understand Him. He has been Faithful and loving to His people. The Bible is not an easy read, it takes study and some knowledge of history of Jewish customs. Go to www.ttb.org and learn the Bible with this excellent Bible teacher.

The Bible is not ugly, it's God's beautiful words. And it's not confusing.

It's pretty simple. The main message is: put your trust in Jesus, and you will be saved.
That's all. Doing good works is basically a given, and comes along with faith,
