no, you are thinking of water weight. water actually helps lose weight by filling in hunger and satisfying cravings without adding fat, carbs, sugars or anything else to your body.

Fat is tissue that is stored in the body when we do not metabolize or burn all the calories we take in. A person may gain weight from retaining water, especially during a mestrual cycle for women and sometimes as men or women get older. It usually indicates some level of insufficiency in the heart,t lungs or kidneys. Doctors often recommend a mild water pill to offset the water retention. This is not recommended however to reduce your weight in general. Because it can cause a loss of potassium and other minerals that are essential to health in general. So no water does not cause you get fat , in fact one reason people on diets don't seem to lose weight is that they do not drink enough water to flush broken down fats and toxins away.

If your kidneys are not working right, water can do something called "third spacing" in which it hides in the body where it's not supposed to. That kind of extra weight from water is very dangerous. Normally, water is used by the body as needed and excess is sent out of the body as urine. Drinking WAY too much water in a short period of time can be very dangerous, not in the weight but in how it dilutes our blood minerals.

No, water can actually help you lose weight by filling you up. If there is any gain in weight, then it would be water weight, which will go away as soon as you use the restroom..

No. You just get bloated and you put on water weight. You don't get "fat".
