It's not "this God." Don't be dissing my God. Everything was made some way for a reason.

"Should the potter himself be accounted just like the clay? For should the thing made say respecting its maker: “He did not make me”? And does the very thing formed actually say respecting its former: “He showed no understanding”?" -Isaiah 29:16

Animals have instinct. They are programmed, by God, to act in the way that best benefits them, and to a great extent us, because much of this animal creation brings joy to us.

Humans, however, can plan. They can make decisions and reason on the outcome of a certain situation. They can follow their heart (which is actually not advised in the Scriptures)

"“The heart is more treacherous than anything else and is desperate. Who can know it? " -Jeremiah 17:9

...........or they can listen to divine counsel and be concealed, if you will from a bad outcome.

"The shrewd one that has seen the calamity has concealed himself; the inexperienced that have passed along have suffered the penalty." - Proverbs 27:12

Although we have limitations, we are the only part of creation that was given the Holy Bible as a guide to help us WALK the right path.

"But the path of the righteous ones is like the bright light that is getting lighter and lighter until the day is firmly established. The way of the wicked ones is like the gloom; they have not known at what they keep stumbling." -Proverbs 4:18-19

What is more, humans needed a redeemer to "right" what Adam had lost for us. What other part of creation has benefited from the perfect sacrifice and shed blood of God's Anointed One??

Yeah, me? I am fine right here on earth merely watching the birds.

"Observe intently the birds of heaven, because they do not sow seed or reap or gather into storehouses; still YOUR heavenly Father feeds them. Are YOU not worth more than they are? "
-Matthew 6:26

GOD does let people fly. we only need have the faith as small as a tiny mustard seed and we can then fly or tell mountains to move really just about anything .
some of the saints were seen to float in the air well they were still alive here like we are.
as for why we don't have this flight capability built in with wings like birds . i think God was smart enough to see that if we could fly that would have only meant we would have damaged the entire world faster and fought even more wars .
i would like to float around but other then in water i have yet to do this . oh wait that is how my life is going i just float around

It is not a simple answer and no one knows for sure. I guess you can say the same about any creature; dog, cat, etc. Why do they not fly. Our biological make up is the reason for this. We can analyze every creature on earth and say why does it not have this or that or why does it do this or that but even then we will never come up with a reasonable answer. Because we were not meant to and that is all.

We spend our whole lives looking for an answer that we will never find instead of just being happy knowing that we will never know for whatever reason. I guess its like a Dog, he will never really know why he eats everything in sight and why it makes his owner mad. He just does it and will continue to do it. A penguin will walk the walk year after year, never knowing why but they do it anyway.

Look how much we've messed up the surface of the earth. Criminy Mr. Petulant, God didn't let humans fly (yet) because He didn't want us messing up the sky, too. Look at how much we've messed it up with our asinine attempts at flight already.

(There is some indications that the redeemed will be able to fly, as they will commute between the New Jerusalem hanging in the air and the earth below.)

Because we are humans that are made to walk or drive around this place we live on. God made birds so they could fly. If humans were flying then it would be real weird.

Think about the aerodynamics. Man is built much to sturdy to fly unless we were to have wings the size of a large plane. Birds are designed with hollow, very lightweight and unfortunately less than sturdy bones. Man is made to be a survivor.

plenty of reasons. Every part of our body has a reason it was made. Like the eyebrows. You think they are useless but guess what if you have water coming down on your face the eyebrows change the path of water!!!!! Or how bout the fact that we have only One nose but two ears? Well I guess there is no right or wrong answer but imagine if we did fly. Our bodies would look alot diffrent. Our bones would have to be diffrent and maybe weaker. Well I dont know :)

I have always personally wondered this... truthfully, I think it's because God knew that Man would probably use this power for evil (makes it easier to go bomb someplace or they could come up with some new kind of terrorist attack...) It's sad that we are the way we are.

I don't think God is a he. And I also think that this is a very little part of your soul's journey. Maybe you'll fly next time!

God created the laws of phyics. He can't counterdict himself. Thats why he gave man the idea for air planes!
