No, however you have to be sensible about your dieting.

Cutting out saturated fats, sugars and watching your protein intake will melt off the fat reserves you carry.

A combination of aerobics (walking and swimming if you like) will directly excercise the heart and weight traing to gain MUSCLE will help you lose weight while you sit and watch tv or sleep

(you need to gain muscle to RAISE your body motabolism for this to work - aerobics only raises your motabolism while you're doing the excercise)

I know I shouldn't be saying this, but funnily enough I've been eating only 460 calories a day (two bowls of cereal) for the past 18 days. I'm doing it for exactly 30 in total. At the end of it I plan on just eating fruits and veggies and very low calorie, healthy foods. I'll let you know how it goes. So far I've definitely lost a lot of weight, and not just water weight. FAT. But who knows how much I'll gain back in the end.

You won't gain weight if you're eating healthy low calorie foods. You will gain weight if you eat McDonalds every day after.

yes. Eating too much of anything will cause weight gain. Actually, eating anything after a starvation diet will cause you to gain weight. Even though fruits and vegetables are healthy, that doesn't mean you can eat as much of them as you'd like. They still have calories.

Starvation diets are wrong. DO NOT, whatever you do, even BEGIN this diet. They are severely damaging to your internal organs, which will be deprived of the nutrients they need. Not only will you be unhealthy, you will look unhealthy. Skin often loses luster and hair becomes dull. However, if you were to begin this diet and eat again, I believe you would still gain weight back. Your body would try to put on the weight it has lost using anything it can get.

That would depend on how long your doing your "starvation" diet. When i did mine, that exactly what i did. For one mth i did the diet then went into the fruits and veggies, it worked, i didnt gain back as much as i thought i would and my body felt better with way more energy! But you have to be careful while doing the diet, I took vitamins to replace what i was losing! Remember your not getting the vitamins you need while doing the starvation thing though it did work for me its not for everyone!

Godless sky... I'm a personal trainer. You are going to lose weight from not eating. Yes. Your body is consuming yourself. Eventually you will have no muscle, no fat, no energy, no drive, no ambition, no metabolism. Then when you start eating, your body will be like, OH MY GOD!! FOOD!! IM GONNA STORE THIS HERE HERE HERE AND HERE. Then you will put on weigh SO FAST!! I'm gonna be real with you. Eating nothing sounds more like a suicidal tendency than a weight loss plan. You need to eat. 4-6 times a day. I know it sounds like a lot, but if your body knows that it will be fed, it will increase its metabolism, which in turn makes you burn off food faster so you can eat AND lose weight. Win win right? Yes. Think about it, a lot of girls out there want to be skinny like the girls in hollywood. The girls in hollywood arent healthy, for the most part. They barely eat anything! Your resting metabolic rate is how many calories you burn a day just resting, doing NOTHING. This usually ranges from 1500 to 4000 depending on how active your lifestyle. So let's say your resting metabolic rate is 1500, that means your body burns 1500 calories a day (while laying in bed). You have to be doing more than that. So assuming you burn 1500 calories a day, and intake 0 calories a day, your body is eating up that much energy from itself, which it gets from muscle first, then fat. Enough of the science behind it, just eat, and exercise. Nuff said. Do it for yourself, now and in 50 years. Don't deprive yourself of a full life.

Yes. All food has calories, and going from 0 to any more than 0 will cause weight gain. Then again, starvation undeniably ends in death if continued.

And starvation is not a diet. It's a disease. If you are starving yourself, you are anorexic and need to seek medical attention immediately.

After any diet you must not let your self go back to your regular eating habits. You can eat low fat, low sugar foods etc. But just cut back on the amounts that you consume. A vegetarian diet will not cause you to gain weight back also.
