The only way to know for sure is to have a CT scan or X-ray. It can be really painful. If it's not too large you can pass it on you own. I had one and the doctor gave me Flomax and told me to drink a lot of water. But I had to have surgery to have it removed. But it's best to see your doctor. Good luck.

well first off, usually if you have a stone it does hurt in the lower left or right abdomen, from the front to the back. Kidneys are in the middle so it can hurt either or both. Usually it hurts to pee, your pee would be really dark if not red because the stone cuts your insides a little causeing blood in your pee. Usually unless it is a very large stone and it gets stuck, you can feel it move from the kidney into the ureture tube and into the bladder from there you would have to pee it out. Good Luck on that one. if your kidneys hurt try drinking alot of water and 100% cranberry juice not the cocktail. You should see a doctor if you think it is a stone because left unattended and unpassing could lead to jaundice, toximia and cause you to be in ALOT of pain and get really sick.
Good Luck!

Oh! boy you will know it for sure. But to be definite you have to get a x-ray and the doctor can tell you. Or sometimes you have to get another exam called IVP or even an C.T scan. Then the doctor can tell it for sure. But before all this, you have to see a doctor. Best of lucks
