What kind of colleges are they permitted to go to and which are they not allowed under any circumstance,
what if the kid was a genius, do they still persist that the kid go to a second rate college?

I say this because my evangelical friend's parents were dead set against college, especially going away, dorming or living away from home....it was based on their belief that it would corrupt her.

They go to regular colleges.
They're not as sheltered and brainwashed and helpless in life as you think . . .

Most parents have faith and sense enough to know that after a certain point/age that their children will retain what they've been taught.
If a parent is to heavy handed the child will rebel which causes more heartache.
There are plenty of sound Christian colleges that they can send her to.

...Certainly. Two of my three kids plan to go to Liberty University in Lynchburg, VA. The campus is very nice and great pains are taken to make the campus safe for the students.
...At Liberty, they are encouraged there to stand for Christ, to live for Him, and proclaim Him, and you can get a good education at a great price. My nephew is just about to finish up.

When my child grows up to of an age to get to college, they will be an ADULT and can choose their own college and I as a parent can only hope I instilled in them a sense of discernment and wisdom. That's when you take a step back and let them make their decisions. ANY parent manipulating their adult offspring away from one college and to another, I would encourage to examine their motives.

Only if they escape the dungeon.
Seriously though, of course that is allowed.
Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.

My parents allowed me to go to any college that they could afford. Why do you think that there would be a problem? Too many "party schools" out there?
