Honestly, I don't think there is anything wrong with eating ice cubes. They are just frozen water! If you really want to stop, consult your doctor for advice. Good luck!

Sometimes ice cube addiction is caused by other medical problems. Sometimes it is caused by a lack of calcium in your diet. Try taking a calcium supplement and see if that helps. If not, and if you think it's a serious enough problem, please go see a doctor and get some blood work and maybe a bone density test done. I hope you find that it's just a craving like anything else. But it's best to be on the safe side!

Actually, this is often an indication that you are anemic...
You should check with your dr and have blood drawn.
If you are anemic and get your iron back to normal, the urge to chew ice cubes will go away naturally.

The only reason your eating ice-cubes is because you need something to chew on. Get gum.

I don't think there is nothing bad with an ice cube addiction itself, but you might want to go to the doctor to get it checked out. My cousin who started off doing that later got really sick and when she went to the doctor, they told her she had cancer. I am not saying this to scare you, but the doctor told her that that is how is started off with the ice cube addiction. Go check it out for your own safety!

Pick up a new addiction, like cigarettes or chewing tobacco or bourbon.
Just kidding, but I think that of all the things to worry over, an unhealthy love for ice cubes is pretty far on down the list.

My mom had the same problem and was told that it is caused by anemia. She started taking these vitamins to help with her blood. She says she doesn't crave ice anymore but it's a habit.

I don't think this is a very bad addiction. It can keep you from gaining too much weight and there are far worse things out there to be addicted to!
