I'm pretty sure religion isn't doing it for me. Just doesn't make sense.
Does he speak through a person's imagination? That may be the only place he could ever reach me. I'm just not wired for "regular" emotional faith. Nothing I can do about that.

Religion is not the same thing as spirituality. Life is about living out the search. I have so many questions when it comes to religion. And religion doesn't seem to give adequate answers. Ive found it to be more spiritual to think about how I am thinking than to think about the content of what I am thinking. Im finally getting to the point where I feel like it is okay to not have answers to everything. Sometimes asking the questions is more important than the answer. Yes, God can reach people through different ways. Why do you think there are so many religions? Or even denominations within one religion. People have different personalities and styles. If God only spoke to humanity one way think of how many people would miss out.

I suspect that you have some misconceptions of what faith and the Church are all about. Faith should not be purely emotional.
God interacts with us constantly, We come to the Church to experience Him because the Church has been entrusted with the Truth of Divine Revelation. One need not be overly emotional about their faith to practice religion.
Prayer is conversation with God. Contemplation, a particular form prayer that is practiced in monasteries, involves just what you suggest--praying with your imagination.
Be careful with the whole "not wired" thing. We don't believe in God and pray because we are rewarded, but because He is God and deserves our love.

I don't know what you mean by "regular" emotional faith, because so many churches express that differently. Maybe you should start looking for one that makes sense to you instead of trying to fit into one that doesn't.
Yes, God does speak differently to different people. I believe he inspires men of intelligence who don't even believe in him. I believe he inspires men of goodness who don't even believe in him. He speaks both to the mind and to the heart. And his inspiration can come in different for different people.

Yes the bible says. But the theme is the same. Believe Him through His son Jesus Christ and you are then cleansed of your sins to become righteous as Jesus. You are then accepted as the child of God for eternal life and kingdom in heaven.

In the bible when spoke, everybody heard him. They all heard him in the garden slapping punishment on everybody. They heard him in the book of Exodus when he was feeding them Israelites manna & quail and they heard him say "THIS IS MY SON IN WHOM I AM WELL PLEASED" at the Jordan river.
How come we don't hear him anymore?

GOD can speak to people in many different ways.... if you feel like HE is trying to say something to you then HE is.... listen to HIM and HE will guide you...

yes he does. he talks to me in dreams. and sometimes the way he comunicates is through signs. i hope this helps. God bless.
