For the pure scientist, this is the result of a change in brain chemistry due to the illness or circumstances. However, most physicians have seen miraculous and unexplainable things happen to their patients who have had the clinical or near death experience so I don't think we can assume that science is correct. I am a believer in God and in Jesus and I would not be at all surprised if there was contact during that time. Although I have not had the near death experience, I have had countless other experiences that are "to much of a coincidence" to be taken lightly.

When this happened to me, I saw everything in a reversed mirror image. I could see my body laying on the gurney. A grey shadowed figure that I believed to be Jesus (but maybe an angel of the lord) said its not time and I was pulled back into my body and revived. If nothing else it made me realize that there was something i needed to do with my life and I fervantly started seeking out God. Though crippled up and in pain I now Know God and devote my life to Him. Had my accident and death not of happened I may of never known Him.

I had an NDE a few years ago, I died on the operating table and was 'zapped' back with defibrillators.

I saw myself on the table with the doctors around me getting ready to restart my heart, my sister was outside waiting to hear how the operation had gone.
She had a cup of coffee and a disgusting looking cheese sandwich.
BOOM, suddenly i am waking up in Recovery with the medical team saying they thought they'd lost me a couple of times.
I saw my sister there, she was all upset because I had almost died. I told her that I had watched her outside theatre having her snacks. The room went quiet so I said it again.
She laughed at my imagination until I said that I was surprised she had eaten any of the cheese or the lettuce as the green was mainly brown and the cheese was wafer thin.
She believes.
I saw NO religious figures. No 'Bright Light'. No Tunnel.

Perhaps it's different for everyone. Thats what I believe.

We all have our own idea of Heaven or Hell and we get what we believe we deserve!

Factor in human expectations, desires, fears, and all other emotions, mix it all up and the outcome can be quite entertaining to say the least. This does not prove anything except we have an imagination. Sit back enjoy the ride. All that is real and available is much more than anyone could ever ask for, why do we need to invent fairy tails?

I think humans are a filed experiment. I believe the earth was a breeding lab for some highly technologically superior race, and somewhere, the experiment they were doing went hidiously wrong and humans were the accident that came from the experiment.

That's what I believe

Usually when folk are near death they're pumped full of drugs to ease their pain so it could be hallucinations, ask him what Jesus looked like and if he goes with the beard, robe, sandles and hippy hair ... it's a dream! how do we know he isn't like Ronald Mc Donald now??

I think we only believe in this if it happens to us our our loved ones
I think most of us would love to believe it because it means there is something after death

How can anyone know? ...but I wouldn't use it as a basis for preaching. If it was real, it was for him and him alone. If not...at least he won't be depressed like me. I'd love to have a happy illusion at the very least.

It very well could have been Jesus or maybe just his Guardian Angel, who knows?
