i'm trying to switch to VoIP phone service because it's alot cheaper. currently i have verizon landline service and i called verizon to see if i am under a contract but they're closed. is anyone aware if landline service carry contracts like wireless phones do?

Typically, no. You pay for your service package a month in advance, and pay your per-minute charges after you incurred them.

The whole service contract business is due to the fact that wireless companies need to guarantee a return on you getting a cheap phone. Otherwise, you'd pay for cell service on a monthly basis, but you'd also be paying full retail on those cell phones, which is pretty steep.

Not sure. Just wanted to tell you that the company you mentioned is central in Venezuela and soon to be state owned. The US ambassador was told to "stop meddling" or he would be kicked out of the country when he tried to voice his opinion re: how business negotiations should be handled. US has a stake in said company .

Usually the #611 line is open till 8 or 9 pm; local stores till 8 PM.
Might depend on your time zone ???

you can send them an email, or even use live online help...there VoIP is excellent...you can also bundle your services for extra savings....
