I think its a love bite because when im holding him he's purring, then all of a sudden he'll grab my face with his paws and bite my chin. Is this a love bite? Is this normal? Also, should i punish him for it (spray him with water) or will he grow out of it? Its cute, but i dont want him to think that biting people is ok.

Yes, that is perfectly normal kitten behavior. It is just a playful "love bite." He will most likely outgrow it, but if it gets to the point where he's doing this constantly or drawing blood, then punish him verbally and try water. If he starts biting your guests aggressively then it's gotten out of hand. That's a good sign that he's purring when he nips at you; he just wants to play with you.

Have fun with your kitten!

It is normal, but eventually you'll stop thinking it's cute. One of my cats was the bitiest kitten EVER. Her nickname was actually "Bitey". lol :-)

Spraying him with water is a good way to "punish" him and also tapping him on his little nose should do it too. He will grow out of it, although actually, my two grown cats still occasionally do this if they are feeling exceptionally playful.

Kitty is playing. I learned long ago to never play with a cat with my hands. I found a great cat toy. It is a long pliable stick with a feather on the end. Available from a pet store.

We spend hours charging around the house.

Have fun!

OK biting is normal. He is telling you, your part of the kitty clan. My cat also does it. If he bites hard I tell him in a stern voice not to. He listens. It also scares the heck out of him when I yell in pain.

Sounds like affection. You might want to gently discourage the behaviour though, he may start biting more if you don't.

It is a form of a love bite. You need to smack him gently straight away or yell quickly to stop him - he won't grow out of it otherwise.

spraying water would help. but if he keeps on, have him bite lemon everytime he bites you.

It's just play and he will grow out of it. Try scolding him to keep it in check.
