i did some research and it turns out that danes only live to be 6 if they are luckey 11

also her uncle has cancer and it might run in her family so it is that along with an infection so that is actually why we ahve to put her down...........i will miss her so.

i just had to put my dane down 2 weeks ago. she was 4 1/2. she had hip displasya. she could not stand up anymore even when picked up. i sat in the floor with her on my lap because that was her favorite place to be while the vet did it.
we buried her in the back yard i put her blanket with her. my kids are making her grave a flower garden so she will always have flowers.
i am so so sorry. i know what your going through. i wont tell you it will get easier, i am crying still writing this...
it will be best for her though.
sorry again

I am so sorry for your loss - We too had to put down our beloved great dane of 7 years. he had bone cancer. I cried for weeks. We now have a 14 week old dane that is just the love of our life. Read the book "dog heaven" it will help. Good luck

Try and be strong for her, so she doesn't anticipate your anxiety.
You have been there for her all along, and tomorrow will be no different.

If she is suffering, you are doing the right thing, even though it is hard right now.

I feel for you and know what you are going through, I too have had to euthanise before and it is not easy.

I am so sorry for your loss.
Take care of yourself, and plan a memorial service, that will help.

Take time to grieve and soon the best memories will comfort you. Then when you and your family are ready, you can open your hearts and home to another dog not as a replacement, but to share the love you have to give.

So sorry.
