Taiwan is a formidable force to reckon with and the US is obligated to support it, therefore China will tread lightly on this issue. China is a patient country and it will make it's move when it has the advantage, so far this hasn't happened.

Ok, did you know that the chinese navy is gonna become the 2nd best navy in the world. They are modernising it already. They have a formidable Sub-force, including ballistic missile subs, and they have multiple Aircraft Carriers. They have Overwhelming Man power, enough high tech equipment (Bought straight from them russians) and the ability to crush Taiwan. Taiwan would fall not in months.... but in weeks.

China doesn't need to take Taiwan. Taiwan belongs to China.
