Utter nonsense. There is nothing in all the world like Jesus Christ, the Son of God come down from heaven, to die on a cross for the sins of men.
Really, there are only 2 religions; the religion of Man, which is like Cain's religion, and is base on works righteousness; and the religion of Abel, which is base on faith, and blood atonement. Throughout all history, the followers of the first have been murderers; and the followers of the latter have been the true martyrs.

I have stated many times that I believe that the fundamentals of all the worlds major religions are the same. Each teaches us to be good to one another and practice charity. It is only after those points that they diverge. The fine print, if you will, is different. It is interesting that of the eight major religions in the world, that fine print has caused war amongst all of them except one. Things that make you go Hmm....

Sometimes it is comical the minor differences. Giant wars have been fought because of minor differences. Three of the five major religions, Judaism, Christianity, and Islam, all have the same foundation. Though Buddhism and Hinduism are majorly different.

So, you are saying that it is all the same when one religion says that you earn eternal life through good works and another says that eternal life is a gift, unconnected to good works, when one religion says that we can reach a god-like state by moving from one life to another, creeping towards perfection and another says that we are sinful and fall short of the glory of the Creator, when one says man is basically good and another says that we are sinful and need the sacrificial death of Jesus as our atonement?
You might pick the first. I pick "another." How we treat each other may have similarities, but how we relate to the God of heaven has distinctions we must come to grips with.

The essence of pure religion is to help the poor and needy and to keep yourself unspotted from the world.

Yes. I agree. In essence they all have the same goals through different means. I'd like to share one of my favorite quotes.
"God can be reached through all paths, All religions are true. Whats important is that you reach the roof. You can reach it by stone stairs, by wooden stairs, or by a rope." By Ramakrishna a Hindu Scholar

I think its going to have to be one. They all teach murder is wrong, share, dont judge, after life, ect...
If this wasnt the case, the religion would die off. Religion needs to help the survival of the specie and relieve stress, which further increases survival. If it didnt meet this criteria, the religion would soon die off.

This is necessary, but I would be very careful about that. It's easy to read something that seems good, but then you find you have lost your Holy Spirit. When your thoughts are not right, the Holy Spirit leaves you.
