I have a wonderful Bichon named Chip. He is 7 and the best dog in the world. I have had many other dogs and the Bichon is the best in terms of temperment and affection. Although they are somewhat difficult to keep properly groomed they are worth it! My poor Chip recently tore his ligament in his leg and had to have surgery to repair it. It was expensive but well worth it to have him walking normally again. No other dog is as amiable as the Bichon. They are also good watch dogs and protective of the family. Of course they wouldn't do anything but lick you to death but they are very aware. Good luck with your puppy. p.s. Chip took a long time to be housebroken. If this is the case with your little one, be patient. You'll reap the rewards.

My mum has a Bichon Frise called Carrie, she is 13 months old to, and what a little terror she is, we all adore her but she rules the home. When she was 6 months old mum discovered a wart growing on her eyelid and she was diagnosed with a cancerous mass, that's what the vet told us, they said she wouldn't see Christmas, we were devastated, so mum thinking that the next few months were her last spoiled her rotten, we all did. Then Christmas came and went and little Carrie was still running her lap of honour around the living room, the wart had gone and after seeing the vet again, he told us that the cancer had dissapeared. A miracle or miss-diagnosis, we don't know, but little Carrie is thankfully going to be with us for a long time. I agree with you she is such a sweetie.
