Is there any program that I can use to take the spywares out of my computer? Because recently, there has been many pop ups and even if I turn on my popup blocker, it still didn't block it. Most of these pop ups, I think came from the spyware because I downloaded Limewire, and a few days after my computer notified me that I have spywares on my computer, eventhough I deleted Limewire, I think those spywares are still there. Please Help ! =(

You will need more then one program to remove all the spyware from your computer. Download and install the following: Adaware, Spybot Search and Destroy, A-Squared, A Ray Scanner, Bit Defender, Super AntiSpyware Home Edition and CCleaner. I know it sounds like a lot, but there is no one application that will remove every trace of spyware, what one does not find, another will. You will also want to disable turn off) system restore, as spyware will lurk in your restore points. The following steps outline the procedure for doing so:

1. Turn off System Restore.
On the Desktop, right-click My Computer.
Click Properties.
Click the System Restore tab.
Check Turn off System Restore.
Click Apply, and then click OK.

2. Reboot.

3. Turn ON System Restore.
On the Desktop, right-click My Computer.
Click Properties.
Click the System Restore tab.
UN-Check *Turn off System Restore*.
Click Apply, and then click OK.

After cleaning your computer, you need to invest in a good firewall and antivurs program, and keep tehm up to date. By this I do not mean just downloading the latest virus definitions, as viruses will defeat older scan engines. When a new scan engine is released, download and install it or purchase one such as Symantec, Panda or McAfee, or purchase a complete internet security suite. You should also change your account permissions, as viruses and spyware need the login account to have administrative privileges to install and do their damage. If you change your account permissions to those of a standard user, you can say good bye to spyware forever. The downside to this, is that whenever you needed to install an application, you would have to log on with the admin id, but that is small price to pay for security.

I use AdAware SE - it's a free download if you just want to scan and remove. You can buy a version that will police your PC in the background, but I've had good luck with the free version. Try the link below and see if that will help. You'll also need to keep your AV software up to date - I use Limewire myself, and so far haven't had any problems - but I do the AdAware and Norton scans on a regular basis. And be sure to keep your definition files up to date - that's the most important thing I can suggest.

spybot search and destroy, once downloaded and updated scan your pc and make sure to use the immunise feature.as far as limewire yep that would do it as most limewire downloads are bundled with junk to send you ads,if you want a p2p program once you get all cleaned up then go for frostwire,no adware no spyware etc and good fast downloads.

The only good and free spyware and ad removal programs are "adaware" and "spybot" these are availiable from http://www.download.com

search for them there be sure to update them before running a full system scan

don't follow the instructions on whatever randomly pops up on your computer; these programs should get rid of it ASAP!
