About a pound a day for a while, then, just like any other person, she will plateau. Obviously, when she is in that stage she will lose nothing, despite the amount of calories she is not consuming and the amount of calories she is burning. Usually, during this time she will "give up" and eat something, gain a couple of pounds, think she is a failure, and start all over again.

I've dealt with this before. She'd lose 1-2 pounds a day in the beginning but it would mostly be water weight. She would lose this much for a few weeks until her body gets used to it, at which point it'll take a little more work to lose that much weight.

When I'd starve, I'd lose 20 pounds in a month eating only 500 calories a day. I know one person who lost 40 pounds in 2 months as well by restricting calories like that.

NOT HEALTHY.

I used to eat a lot and not gain anything, but I have stopped being as active and I did gain some weight. Which sucks! Lately I have only been eating one moderate sized meal a day and sometimes a little healthy snack.

Not very much.

Why? A body not getting ANY FOOD will go into starvation mode and start to conserve body fat instead of burning it.

It always depends on her activity level. A pound, I believe, is 1400 calories. Just because she doesn't consume it doesn't mean she'll burn it. Eventually she'll lose so much energy that she won't be able to even work out.

While I certainly dont advocate starvation as a diet method, for the sake of your project, recently I was unable to eat for 3 weeks and lost a total of 16kg.

teenage girls burn about 1500 calories a day

there are 3500 calories in a pound of fat so she will lose just under half a pound a day.

Not sure, because after a certain point in starvation, the body starts retaining water which is heavy. Hard to tell.

Don't know how much exactly.. but I did hear that if you stop eating completely, you lose weight more slowly. Your body's metabolism slows way down and doesn't burn calories as much.
