granted the I6 has 300 ft pounds of torque and is a true workhorse you didnt mention if either were 2 wheel or four wheel drives but the v-10 guy has a 3/4 ton vs a 1/2 ton that is hardly fair right there the 1/2 guy sorry to say will loose that tug of war contest.

I had an 85 F-150 with the 300 -6 The straight 6 will pull that V-10 wherever it wants too. The 300 is a torque monster.... low revving and all power. I towed a trailer loaded with 10,000 pounds and it felt like I had no trailer at all.

My spouse also needs a Ford get away Hybrid, hence I actually were doing some study myself. we are a kinfolk who've been very unswerving to both Ford and Honda. (previous: '87 Honda Accord LXi, 'ninety six Ford Mustang GT, 'ninety 9 Ford Explorer XLT, '00 Honda Accord LX. at present: '04 Honda Odyssey EXL, and '04 Ford F150 FX4 great team.) i love the seems of the '08 get away Hybrid, yet I hear that the means is really lacking and that the really MPG is below marketed. We at present went and appeared into the Toyota Highlander Hybrid and prefer length of the Toyota compared to the get away (were given to manage to in effective condition 2 youthful ones, canines and all our stuff.) Getting the Hybrid can make the environmentalists happier, yet i'm no longer really constructive in case you need to be saving as a lot funds contained in the destiny. with somewhat of success a number of my babbling is functional, so some distance as means, we are now pondering the Honda Accord Hybrid. should be effective in the adventure that they can make an day holiday Hybrid... perchance sometime. good success!

Depends on what "Outpulling" means.....

Torque (which is dead start pulling power), HP, and towing capacity you win Hands Down.

EMPTY, From a dead start, fastest off the line he may win. But if you want to truly check Pulling Power. Ask him for a "sprint" with a loaded10,000 lb trailer attached to the back of your trucks..... You win no problem, his bumper will be draggin' the ground.

Or ask him to chain the bumpers together..... Your v-10 definately out torques (pulls) his 6 cylinder.

straight 6 has loads of torque. doesnt matter how high your truck sits. I went to a redneck bonfire party this fall and watched as alot of the rednecks has truck pulls the one who won the most was a 7.3 diesel ford p/u it beat the chevy and the new dodge hemi in pulls also held its own with the dodge and chevy vs the ford. my grandpa used to pull start their semis when they'd freezeup in the winter with his 300 6 cylinder f150 2wd. thats 80,000 pounds .

if both are completely stock no mechanical changes to either, than the V10 will out pull. thats pretty much all it is good for, its not good on gas strickly for pulling things. but it doesnt make a difference that yours sits higher.

300 cid, straight six has torque and pulling power, use to be in F 600's.
V 10 can't handle that

I KNOW HE DEFINITELY WILL NOT OUT PULL YOU WITH 150HP AND 300 TRQ. YOUR V-10 MAKES 350 TRQ JUST OFF IDLE AND 410 TRQ OVERALL AND MAYBE NOT SO IMPRESSIVE 275 HP. YOUR V-10 WAS BUILT FOR PULLING, IT MAY NOT BE THE FASTEST THING IN THE WORLD BUT HIS COMBINATION IS OUTGUNNED THIS TIME.
