Do NOT get her an animal unless you know she's been wanting one.
Select a box of beautiful stationery, and inside it put 1)a pre-paid phone card 2)several cool stamps (choices at the P.O.) and 3)a picture of you (draw kisses on the back, and date the thing).

Send her a shirt that smells like you, maybe spray the cologne that you usually use on it.
Send her a cute poem, even if its kinda cheesy. like...

you should send her a pretty card, decorate ir really cute, put a pic of you in it, draw or put stuff in it that she likes, and even write a poem or love note about her. or you can visit her. girls like it when you travel a long ways just to see them.
