I don't think there's anything wrong with believing in both God and evolution.
However, here's what I think. I personally see a lot of holes in the theory of evolution. Adaptations I can see. That's just common sense. Everything adapts to its environment. But evolving from one species into another doesn't make much sense to me, though it does to some Christians (which again I have no problems with). Evolution doesn't explain the diversity of life, and frankly the order (nature is not chaotic at all) of it. How could we come from mosquitos or, frankly, anything else that base of nature? Even over billions of years and tries, I cannot see it happening. But I also believe in evolution to some small extent: I believe that we are changing, not extreme and not into differing species, but that we are changing and adapting to our environment. That makes sense to me. But there are a lot of holes where the evolving from one species to another comes in.

First go back to the very beginning of what we call evolution.
Examine how they say we got here.
Now, look at that again. Remember that for evolution to be even a theory, it must by its own definition make us stronger, better and more able to cope with the environment around us. Bigger, better and stronger are the keywords here.
Now, if we were able to in the beginning somehow reproduce, we would have continued to reproduce in this manner. At some point, for evolution to be true, we would have had to somehow de-evolve and become unable to reproduce on our own.
Today, we need to have one female and one female in order to reproduce. THis is not bigger, better , nor stronger.
Another in the beginning thought. If we were somehow evolved without the need to be cared for by an older version of ourselves (parents, etc), how in the world did we somehow again de-evolve and now need to be born as an infant needing absolute care in order to survive.
Herein lies my biggest problem with the THeory of evolution. If it is unbelievable in the beginnings, all the other details about afterwards do not make the beginning real or true.
It seems to me that evolution has taken form by taking a creature that is already here and explained it from that point on. Create the creature, and then I want to know more.

That's not evolution of the species, it's evolution of the soul through the existing species.

Ignore all the propaganda youve heard about it being uncontested fact. Realize the impact of adopting atheistic philosophy and what that can mean for your faith.

Get Dr. Baugh's tapes from the creation evidences museum. Dr. Hovind is also interesting, and helps us to understand how observed phenomena (science) does NOT contradict the concept of creationism.

Opiates are drugs for people who can't handle reality.
Religion is the opiate of the masses.
