It really depends on the shape of the face, the contour, features, etc... But, Ill give you my own opinion!! lol

I just had my hair done over the weekend... My beautician is now employeed by the Matrix Hair Company--They make Biolage shampoos & conditioners, etc... BIG people in the cosmotologist industry. She goes to shows all throughout the country...

Anyways, I told her I was ready for something no one else had, something modern, something different, and a new look totally... My cut ended up layered--the back layer beginning very short, just above the earlobe, and going down. It's slightly choppy & razored a tad bit... The top short layer is done in blonde, with streaks of my natural color, while the underneath is done in a darker shade of my natural color (very dark brown/reddish). The highlighting affect that I have is what nearly everyone is getting... Dark underneath, very light on top.

With the layering, you can do a variety of styles. If your hair has curl, the layering will give it more volume--or at least make it LOOK that way! You can also flip it out, and have a sort of 'wild and crazy' look... OR... You can wear it as I do my own, which is how quite a few people wear it... You take the shortest layer and you slightly tease it, to make it "big" (lol) and then style with either a curling iron or straightening iron, whichever you prefer.
