I have been getting leg cramps (charlie horses) for the past 4-5 days in a row. Does this mean anything? Just dehydration or could it be anything worse?? It's in the same spot-right leg calf.

Thanks. (Only serious answers please, thanks)

I am sure there are several causes of charlie horses, but I found that I tend to get repeated ones when I have been getting inadequate amounts of calcium. I drink more milk and eat more cheese and yogurt, that nearly always reduces my charlie horses. I also find that if I flex the foot on the leg that keeps getting them numerous times before I go to sleep that helps alleviate them as well.

This could be because of muscle fatigue or dehydration. Try exercising all parts of your body. It also sometimes is due to disuse atrophy. Consult a doctor if it persists. You can also look for information in the web. I found this website very useful. http://aches.in/cramps.html

I have DVT"S "blood clots" and have had them for the last 18 years it can feel like cramps...you really should see a doctor....is your leg swollen? do you have any tingling, numbness? You may just need more potassium but get it checked out

I would hate to deter you from seeing a doctor, on the off chance it's a blood clot, but every time this has ever happened to me, focusing on eating bananas and staying hydrated has resolved the problem.

Definitely stay hydrated and take care of your body. Could it be growing pains..? Good luck, I know those aren't fun to deal with
