Too much of anything is a bad thing. What they use to make the carbonation saps the calcium from your bones, sugar is hard on your system because it's fattening and hard to digest besides being rough on the teeth, even sugar substitutes can be hard on your system, depending on what type you drink, the caffeine can be bad in constant doses as it is a diuretic and can keep you dehydrated as well as being hard on the organs, kidneys, liver, etc. So yeah, it's not good for you. Too bad it's so tasty. I prefer juices myself, or water. Mmmmm... water....

Sugar is really bad for you and significantly lowers your immune system. The phospherus in some sodas like Coke eats away at the enamel of your teeth making them more prone to cavities. If they contain caffeine, that's even worse. Caffeine dehydrates you, constricts the blood vessels, and is a stimulant. It is easy to become dependent on it...it's a drug, the second most abused drug in America :)

There's nothing wrong with having anything in moderation but...it might not be a good idea to drink soda every single day, and definitely not every single meal.

Yes - what makes it carbonated also depletes you of calcium. This goes for both diet and regular. Also, it is bad for your teeth, and many other things. Such as it may be hard to keep food down after years of drinking pop as it damages esophagus. It contains sodium, which dehydrates you. There is nothing good about soda except for the taste:)

I work for heart surgeons and a girl I work with told me that drinking the "colored" or carbonated drinks over the years is bad for your arteries and can cause build up which can later lead to blockage.

P.S. I am in deep trouble if that is true...I drink alot of Dr. Peppers!!!

Certainly it's bad if you drink to much. But a little red wine for everyday is good for health.

Yes, it's very bad for you. There's way too many grams of sugar and calories in it.
If you're trying to lose weight (or get better health in general) you should definitely cut soda out of your diet.

Along with making you gain weight,it can cause the calcium in your bones to break down and the sugar and corn syrup in it is terrible for your teeth.
