interets = en-TEHR-reh
modeste = moh-DEST
frere = frair

remember that in French, many times the "s" is silent.

interêts: an-teh-RAY
modeste: muh-DEST
frères: FRAIR

Word-final consonants are often silent (e.g., -ts in 'interêts', -s in 'frères'). French stress is always on the last syllable.

freres = f-r(throat sound for the "r") -airs
the "r" is a throat sound and the rest is like "airs" or "heirs" in english
