You should absolutely tell your therapist. You have posted this question, I think, because you don't really want to hurt yourself.

Please get professional help and instead of fearing how you'll get better, look at it as an opportunity to be happy again.

Hi, the fact that you are even asking this question and have an appointment to see someone is a great accomplishment. It takes a lot for someone in your state of mind to do those things. I will tell you from experience that they probably will want you to get some inpatient help. I have been in an inpatient program 4-5 times with my bi-polor disease (it took several years to diagnose and get the medicine right but I kept fighting for myself). It is not as bad as it sounds. You are in a safe place with people that are going through some of the same feelings and you are away from the stresses that sometimes make life difficult. Really, it is not bad. Your only required to go to groups, eat and see a doctor. Sometimes after some rest, medication and time to talk you are ready to face the world in just a few days or a week. Also, do not underestimate the value of taking medicine to get your brain balanced. Just because you have these feelings does not mean you are crazy, just sick. If you were a diabetic you would take insulin to balance your sugar levels and having that disease would not be your fault. The same is true here but you can't ignore your own health and think it will get better on it's own. I encourage you be totally honest with your therapist and get the help you need to take care of yourself. It is the smart and couragous thing to do. My thoughts will be with you.

I don't think so but I'm not sure. You seem to be a danger to yourself and others, which is the prime criteria for committal. Do you really want to hurt other people because of your sadness? Imagine the sadness you will cause those who survive. I am sure you will cause great sadness for those around you if you hurt yourself. You may not realize who these people are but that doesn't mean they don't exist. Do you wish to have others feel the pain that you feel now? You need to talk about your plan with your therapist so that you can understand better why you would want others to feel the extreme pain that you feel now.

Well it is a good thing you are going to see a therapist. To my knowledge only if your intend upon hurting someone else, like your planning a crime can they break confidence. Or if you say on the 10th I plan on hurting myself, but if you tell them that you have thoughts of it and know how tell them. Maybe they can give you a prescription to help and then schedule regular sessions to get through it. Nothing is so bad that you should end it, stay strong

i think u should talk to a therapist. how bad dou wanna hurt urself? i shouldnt even ask that, why do u want to hurt urself? u should get help immediately. there are healthy wells to get over what ur feeling or whats going on in ur life..hurting urself is not a good or the best option. dont try to hide ur plan from the therapist..there job is to help u. maybe they can help u understand why u would want to do this to urself.

You should tell your therapist and they can get you help. They won't lock you up, you did nothing wrong.

If you are in danger of KILLING yourself then they may want to hospitalize you for awhile.

But I used to hurt myself too when I was a teenager and I was on Prozac and saw a therapist and I got through it. Good luck.

Your doctor will just over medicate you in the psych ward until your happy with yourself.

I don't think you should hurt yourself. Do you have any friends? A real friend is easier to talk to sometimes and if you listen you will see that every one feels like this sometimes. I'm sure we all wake up and ask ourselves sometimes "Why are we here?"

There is nothing wrong with you, your just lacking the inner strength and drive to live.

Stop associating with negative energy people.

They wouldn't lock you up. They would probably refer you to an inpatient psychiatric unit at a nearby hospital. I wouldn't be afraid to tell anyone. You told the anonymous answerers here. That's a start.

This one is really hard, if they believe that you are a threat to your self or others, you will be sent to a psychiatric ward at a hospital. What ever you do, don't hurt your self, its a temporary solution to a big problem.
