Spanish is not hard at all for English speakers - the only real difficulty is the Spanish subjunctive mood because we don't use that as much in English. It's probably difficult for Spanish speakers to learn English, but if a kid starts at 2-3 years of age, it would be a lot easier than if he waits till he's older.

My little grand daughter learned English and Spanish at the same time. Is 9 now and fluent in both. Her brother came after her and trained the same way but rejects the Spanish completely. He is 4 now. I cannot answer your questions. In the above, My son is American speaking English and his wife is from Venezuela speaking Spanish. She also speaks English now. He can get by with the spanish he knows but not to well.

iNo! iEspanol es muy facile! I found it to be quite easy to pick up - although it has been quite a while since I studied it, and I have forgotten most of it.

Being a native English speaker, it is difficult for me to comment on how easy it is to learn, but I have heard that it is very hard for those who speak another language to learn English.

I think that the first words an infant speaks are as difficult to learn in English as in any other language. "Mama" is the same in English as it is in Spanish, so it can't be that much harder!

I grew up in a prediminantly spanish speaking area, and I find it very difficult to speak spanish. I do understand spanish fairly well, and enjoy watching some spanish television shows, particularly mexican game shows.

well. its not that hard when you first start... like i'll give you some words now

bonita=pretty

guapo=handsome

enojado=angry,mad

malo=bad

bueno=good

a veces=sometimes

semana=week

and thats all i could think of... when i first started taking spanish... thats what we learned so it wasn't that hard. for me the hard thing is knowing where to put your accents. and what question words to use when you make question sentences
