Even though i don't know you i must say i am very proud of you for quiting

craving a cig is going to be normal for the first few weeks so don't worry try doing something that will distract you or just think do you really need that cig ? and also think how proud you will be of your self and how good you will feel once you have a quit and didn't give into temptation

good luck and very very well done !!!

Boy, can I relate. Friend of Bill's here. Can't say I have beat it yet. I've tried everything and still haven't won. But I haven't heard you mention trying Chantix. I tried it and it cut me down from 2 packs to 1 pack without even trying. If I stayed on it I know I would have quit. The only problem was that it made me sick to my stomach all the time. I stayed on it 12 days and I was always nauseous. It works well for a lot of people. Good Luck. Hope you make it.

whatever you do don't have a cig or you will be back to square one , i found chewing gum was great keeps you diverted ,just think the urge only lasts a few minutes and then fades off till the next time, take one day at a time and think what Good you are doing your body ,isn't going to be easy but if you can stick it out you will be thrilled, don't be tempted to have a sly one think about all the black building up on your lungs and have a mental image of it every time you get the urge ,good luck and it will get easier ,this is the hardest time now so stick to it. good luck

It only takes 48 hours after your last cig for nicotine to be gone from your body,so i didnt do the nicotine replacement.

I did it with a book called "the easy way to stop smoking" by Allen Carr.it was fantastic and really easy.

Its 3 months since my last cig and I feel great,I hardly ever think about them now, even when I go to the pub.

Good luck with it ,its worth it.

Quitting is hard! You need some divertional therapy! The only way is to change your lifestyle! No more friends that smoke! No more nights out! No more coffee and a cig! No more rewards! Good luck! You are doing great!

Get some snacks like carrot and celery sticks, regular gum and tart hard candies like lemonheads. When you want to smoke choose one of these and it will curb the craving. All of these are cool and sweet and trigger a similar comfort reaction in the brain. This is the technique I used and I have been smoke free for over 18 years. Good Luck!

You ARE a drug addict, my friend. And it's ok, you're working on your problem.

My words of wisdom are this: NEVER GO COLD TURKEY! You have to wean yourself. So smoke a cigarette. Figure out a way to systematically cut down every few days or week or whatever you choose. You will go through serious withdrawal and you are already having compulsive cravings. Not fun, not the smartest way to go.

Some people can go cold turkey when they have a traumatic experience but...most people can't. You're not superhuman. Figure out a plan for yourself, and find something that you can hold in your mouth that feels like a cigarette because you are also addicted to that aspect of it too. Good luck.

You'll get through this trust me, I just did cold turkey 2 weeks ago, It gets better, just make up your mind to do this.
Remember, quittin ain't for sissys.
Take deep breaths when you crave. Punch your pillow, do what ever it takes, Just don't smoke!

well..this is not actually advisable to do it but just wanna share it with you guys...

get 4 or 5 stick of your cigarette...mash them up together in a glass or jug or something..and pour the whole coconut water in it..stir..drink it..you'll end up vomitting by doing this...( don't drink the tobacco leaves!! )..if you didn't vomit..make it!

after that...hopefully...you will find that the smell of cigarettes is the worst thing in your life and quit smoking instantly...
