My 9 month old was given eggs by a babysitter who didn't know better, and he had an allergic reaction. Does this mean he'll be allergic forever, or will he grow out of it? If so, when can I try giving it to him again?

He may be allergic for the rest of his life, but theres a chance that he could grow out of it, lots of kids grow out of allergies. Talk to your doctor and try and find out more information on the allergy if you can. They may be able to tell you when, if ever, your son will be able to have eggs again.

Often, allergic reactions get worse with continued exposure, but check with your doctor. There is a high incidence of being allergic to Sulfa drugs if you are allergic to eggs, so make sure to let the Dr. know if your child needs antibiotics.

some children grow out of them and some don't. I didn't grow out of my egg allergy. However, I can take small amounts of egg - in cake and ice cream for instance. I don't eat plain eggs though.
