I am having a strand of beads go in between the layers of my wedding cake.. yet can't find the color I want around Town. I am having trouble finding strands of beads/pearls online for this purpose... Does anyone know of a website that sells what I am looking for???

the type of beads I am looking for are the ones that are attached to each other on a permanent string not individual ones that could accidently be left behind.

Check out orientaltrading. They have beads in all colors. Also, check out a Christmas store. There are some yearround Christmas stores that have long strands that would wrap around a tree, like 10 feet long. I got a long strand like that at the Dollar Tree at Christmas. Now you'll have to cut it into pieces but its not the type of string that when you cut it they all slide off. They are permanently attached to the string.

Also if you are looking for a very specific color, consider making it yourself. Buy the beads on ebay and then tread them together. Put a large enough piece on the end thats easy to find and won't allow them to slide off.

Though I'm sure either a Christmas store or Oriental Trading will have it. =)

If you are strickly opposed to having pearl beads, I would suggest talking with your cake baker. They should be able to locate what you want and add it to your cake. If they can't locate it, you may need to have your baker custom make edible beads using food coloring to get the look you want. And by the way, there is nothing wrong with add beads to your cake. It actually adds a nice elegant look. We had pearl beads on our cake as well since my dress had pearl beads on it. We didn't have a problem cutting our cake. The beads were taken off along with the flowers before the cake was sliced and served to our guests so no one choked at all.

You don't want to put anything that's not edible on your cake, unless it can be removed VERY easily. Beads don't sound like they'd fit that description. You certainly don't want to miss one, and have a guest accidentally swallow one, that wouldn't be pretty at all!!! Have your cake decorator just pipe frosting in beads, and they can do it any color you want. Good luck!

I buy beads for making necklaces on Ebay very cheaply. However make sure they are not actually on your cake or you may end up with guests with broken teeth.

Are you trying to choke your guests? Be sure to practice your Heimlich maneuver before the ceremony.
