I have 3 pet Emu's. They can make good pets, but only if you are confident handler. They can get aggressive and unpredictable during breeding season or when frightened. They must have a fairly large area with very good fencing for exercise, and can be costly to feed. They are not a good pet for children. I would strongly recommend that you consider this decision very seriously. For the right person, an emu can be a wonderful pet! But too many are dumped when they reach maturity.

lol is this a real question? lol no they don't make good pets unless you have a lot of land and even then they are mean birds. (my grandparents owned a emu farm and just to move them from pin to pin my uncle would come back all bloody and scratched)
if you really want an egg find a emu dealer around your area and let them know that you are looking for an egg. they will either charge a a few bucks for an empty one or they might just give it to you.
also you can not walk an emu, they will drag you around.

Emus make great pets. If your not into the extremely cuddly pet that is. The best would be to raise one from hatching yourself so it doesn't get aggressive and/or too crazy. I don't think the leash law refers to emus. Sounds like you're a city boy, I don't believe you can raise them in town.

I heard a story about a woman in India that married a wild cobra, so... but it doesn't make your love for your emu any less...creepy.
