Opera Auditions Website

You have to find out the name of the opera company - some companies have a resident hall, but the physical location may house several different performing arts companies or may be run by a different administration team than the opera itself. For instance, Chicago Lyric Opera is the name of the opera organization, and they perform at the Civic Opera House in Chicago, but the Civic Opera House doesn't hold auditions, the opera organization does.

So find out the names of different opera companies, find their website and look under "employment". Often they will tell you what their requirements and schedules for auditions are. This information may be hard to find sometimes, as different organizations put it under different headings. Look under "About Us" and there may be an "Auditions" link, or there may be an "Employment" link that will take you to information about auditions. Also look under "Contact Us" if you don't see an "About" link, because sometimes they have the information there.

Hope that helps.

Start by finding all the Civic Opera Companies in your area and contacting them and asking public relations if they have open auditions for their parts.
