You are slightly underweight but only by a very small amount.

For someone of your height your ideal weight range should be between 86 and 115 pounds. It wouldn't harm to add a few pounds.

I'm making an assumption that you're quite young in which case your body will change as you get older and you'll 'bulk out' a little anyway.

Make sure you eat a healthy and well balanced diet and do some exercise.

Anorexia has nothing to do with your weight -- it has to do with your emotional health. These are usual signs of anorexia:
1. You think you're fat (when you're actually thin).
2. You skip meals frequently because you think it is a "good" thing to do.
3. You are obsessed with calorie intake (many girls are though, don't worry too much about that. : ) Only if you OBSESS like, it rules your life).
4. You have lost all other motivations, and only want to lose weight. Life seems like it relys on how much you weigh.

These are just some things with anorexia. If you're naturally thin, there's nothing, NOTHING to worry about, but these emotional thoughts can influence anorexia.

It appears you are under weight but you need to consider other factors as well. Like your body type, your age, your diet (some people eat a fair amount of food and can't gain weight), the type of exercise or sport you are doing.

If you think you are ok but your mum doesn't, go to your doctor and get some test done, like BMI and blood test etc.

Your weight isn't the whole picture, it's whether your healthy or not.

There are other questions to ask before answering that... 1st HOW OLD ARE YOU? .... Have you gained weight and Height...according to a standard normal curve.... My 13 year old is about the same as you are .. and in the very low percentile compared to the average girl of her age and height but she has continued to grow... at a reasonable rate.... genetics play a role also.... eat when your hungry... eat... good balanced foods... and no need to skip the carbs in your case... If your mum is worried she should take you too the doctor... what did you weight last year at this time.. how tall where you then.. and the year before that...???

No thats a pretty dangerous weight for someone thats almost 5 feet tall. You need to go to a nutritionist and start to learn about healthy eating, healthy weight gain, and learn about what your Body Mass Index is for your age and height. But I definitly know that 84 pounds is VERY VERY VERY underweight for someone your height. Get help fast cause it sounds like your developing an eating disorder! Have your Mom go with you to a doctor and find a good nutritionist!!! They will help you learn about a healthy weight and teach you what you need to know to be and stay healthy.

I would think that someone around 5 ft tall should be at least 90 lbs. I think that ideal body weight for that height would be about 90-110. Eat some cheeseburgers!!

It's one thing if you don't eat enough but another to be born with a specific body shape. My brother is really skinny and eats a TON but is still thin as a stick so you could be the same way, but just to be sure, get three square meals in a day.

You could stand to put on 10 pounds or so. The important thing is that you are healthy, not how much you weigh. As long as you eat good and exercise, I wouldn't worry too much about weight.

SWEETIE, IF I WERE YOU, I WOULD GAIN SOME MORE WEIGHT UNTIL ATLEAST 100 POUNDS. IF YOU ARE 84 POUNDS YOU ARE VERY UNDERWEIGHT SO GAIN SOME WEIGHT BUT EAT HEALTHY WHILE YOU ARE DOING SO, AND EXCERCISE AT LEAST 3 TIMES A WEEK FOR 20 MINUTES PER DAY, AND YOU WILL GAIN WEIGHT AND KEEP YOUR WEIGHT SUFFICIENT AND YOUR BODY VERY HELATHY, AS IN PERSONAL FITNESS. DON'T EAT FATTY, OR GARBAGE FOODS, EAT HEALTHY.

LOTS OF LUV, HEATHER!
